Having a portrait painted is a special event in one's life. You can either have a formal or informal portrait, so consider your lifestyle and where the portrait will hang.  Also, think whether you would prefer an indoor or an outdoor portrait and what combination of factors, including the clothing and setting, will better suit your lifestyle.

 

When you made the decision, make contact and set up the sittings and the photosession. As a rule two to four one-hour sittings would encompass the artist's needs. On exceptional occasions (for example, painting children) I can create a portrait solely from photographs.
